According to local non-governmental organizations, on the territory of Stara Zagora there is a growing tendency of children dropping out of school – a trend that is observed not only in Roma communities, but also among children from ethnic Turkish minority.
The project “Preventive educational and social services in early childhood for Roma children” is a joint project of the “Foundation for social change and inclusion” and “World without borders”, implemented in the vulnerable Roma community in Lozenets, Stara Zagora.
Within the project, FSCI and “World without Borders” work preventively in terms of early school drop-out in a centre where children receive support in the process of acquiring the necessary skills for inclusion in the educational system and their parents – motivation and guidance.
