FSCI Takes Over the Care for Under-18s in Gabrovo

February 2011 Foundation for Social Care and Inclusion (FSCI) won a tender for delivering a Family Type Accommodation Center (Bulgarian abreviation – TsNST) for young people between 15 and 18 in Gabrovo. The project is financed with a state-delegated budget which was so far administered by the Municipality of Gabrovo..

The Center delivers alternative care in a small family-type home for young people deprived of parental care who are soon to leave institutions. The team of FSCI is committed to offer the young people active support with focus on the individual. The plan for bettering the atmosphere in the Center includes focused trainings on social skills and house-hold management. The staff work hard on creating a supportive environment for the youngsters aoutside the Center – encouraging hobbies and additional school activities, involving volunteers, informing the local community etc.

FSCI has been working in Gabrovo since 2010 when The House of Opportunity opened doors. It provides support for young people who leave state institutions in their transition to independence. The Municipality partners with FSCI by providing the building of the House for 10 years rent-free.
