Sife birmingham train young people at Hop

Younge people from the House of Opportunity (HOP) were trainned by SIFE Birmingham as part of “Bulgaria, Breaking the Cycle” project. The training focused on gaining skills for finding a job and managing finances, building upon the educational programme the young people get in HOP.

The trainers are Bulgarian students learning Social Sciencies in th eUniversity of Birmingham. Their international experience was very valuable in delivering an ineractive teaching in line with the young people’s attitudes and abilities. The course took place in Gabrovo in three sessions covering the following topics: Team work and leadership; CV and job interviews; Presentation skills and communication; Managing of finances; Business orientation. Young people from the Houses of Opportunity in Skravena and Gabrovo took part, as well as the young people graduating the Youth Unit in Gabrovo.

FSCI and SIFE Birmingham are discussing continuation of the training with sessions to build on the skills gained. The students plan to visit the House of Opportunity again in August to furthe research the opportunities and to plan the work.
