335 rucksacks with school supplies handed out by FSCI
The Foundation is the local partner of the initiative “School in a bag”, run by The Piers Simon Appeal (PSA)
According to UNICEF figures, 20% of the world’s child population will never attend school.
“School in a bag” is an initiative by the British charity the Piers Simon Appeal, which has come up with a simple solution to help poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children throughout the world.
Each SchoolBag is filled with stationery, learning resources and eating utensils that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and above all learn.
Access to education and social inclusion is a key area of the work of the Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion. The organisation supports the initiative because of the shared belief that the inclusion of children supports the idea that the inclusion of children from underprivileged backgrounds in education is their only chance, their “passport,” which can help them to a life out of hardship and poverty. That is why our team partnered in this initiative and distributed 335 rucksacks to children in need in different settlements in the regions of Burgas, Stara Zagora and Sofia.
Piers Simon Appeal has been created with the main aim to help victims of natural disasters by giving financial support to organisations who work towards helping victims.
